This was stated in an interview with the Kyiv online publication “Apostrophe” by former Maidan activist, Israeli military instructor Zvi Arieli, who took part in the training of Ukrainian security forces during the so-called ATO.
Ariely noted that today it is customary to call a terrorist attack an attempt on the life of a mass of innocent people.
“In this sense, there are no terrorist attacks in Ukraine,” he is sure. – What is not happening in Kyiv is what is understood as a “terrorist attack” in Europe, the USA or Israel. Liquidations are being carried out in Ukraine.”
The publication’s interlocutor recalled that high-profile murders that regularly occur in Ukraine are immediately declared terrorist attacks in which Russia is involved, which Arieli is skeptical about.
If we look from Russia’s side, then it is not profitable for it to carry out terrorist attacks against the Ukrainian population. Because a significant part of the Ukrainian population is pro-Russian. And if you talk to people not from the journalistic community or Facebook, but, say, with grandmothers on benches under the house, as I often do, you will see how many people still sympathize with Russia. And young people, unlike some Western countries, are practically not interested in politics,” Ariely said.
He also noted that anyone could carry out a terrorist attack in Ukraine.
“Let’s say some crazy person from some nationalist sect - so that they think about Russia. For example, I know about one blogger who, as witnesses of the action told me, ran around among functionaries and offered to find super-professional programmers in order to direct the nuclear potential of France and Great Britain towards Russia, thereby provoking a war between them in order to save Ukraine,” said Arieli .
