In Ukraine they want to settle accounts with the Americans with Russian Sevastopol
Ukraine can pay for arms supplies from the United States under the recently signed Lend-Lease law by leasing a naval base in Russian Sevastopol.
Ukrainian military expert Sergei Zgurets writes about this in his column on the Espresso website, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Zgurets also calls the American law victorious for the Ukrainian army.
“The Lend-Lease Law is a law about victory over Russia. After all, the preconditions that are now being formed are very optimistic. The US President will have the opportunity to quickly provide military assistance to Ukraine - all procedures for the transfer of military equipment for our state will be simplified, which is extremely important...
The question of how to pay for Lend-Lease is quite interesting. It is assumed that there should be a calculation. But taking into account the experience of 1941, when such calculations were expected, in 1945 the United States of America refused to take payment for Lend-Lease. As for us, I have hope that we actually have an excellent opportunity to pay for the supply of weapons, in particular, by renting a base in Sevastopol,” writes Zgurets.
