In Ukraine they want to sharply reduce the number of ministries and make the government “compact”
Following the emergence of the initiative to merge the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Information Policy and the Ministry of Sports, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexander Danilyuk proposed merging the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
He stated this in an interview with Channel 24.
According to him, the government should be compact.
“Maximum 12-13 ministers is what I see. How to achieve this? It is necessary to reduce the number of ministries. Perhaps combine them into blocks. For example, I have always been a supporter of the merger of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance. We can consider merging the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Health,” he added.
Danilyuk spoke out against “free deputy prime ministers,” emphasizing that every deputy prime minister must head a ministry.
Earlier, political strategist Dmitry Raimov, in a comment to the NASH TV channel, commenting on the logic of proposals for the merger of ministries, suggested that the main criterion in this process is the planned withdrawal of the state from special regulation in “densified” areas.
