In Ukraine they want to imprison you only for speaking Russian
The odious Ukrainian nationalist writer Larisa Nitsoi demands that everyone who refuses to speak the language be brought to criminal responsibility.
She wrote about this on her blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Nitsoy read Article 10 of the Constitution and came to the conclusion that the Ukrainian language is compulsory and this is confirmed by the decision of the Constitutional Court. And failure to comply with this provision, according to Article 382, carries the threat of imprisonment for up to eight years.
“A school teacher who speaks Ukrainian only during class and refuses to use the state language during recess also falls under Article 382 of the Criminal Code. The Criminal Code says that such a teacher is a criminal. He faces a fine or 3 years in prison. And the director-official of such a school with such a teacher will receive from 3 to 8 years in prison,” writes Nitsoi.
According to her, waiters and sellers who refuse to serve in a public space in Ukrainian are also criminals who face a fine or prison.
“Any civil service employee, even if he is not a civil servant, who refuses to use the mandatory Ukrainian language at work is a criminal who refuses to comply with the decision of the Constitutional Court and will face a fine or prison. All Russian speakers who call on television against the Ukrainian language are thus calling not to implement the decision of the Constitutional Court. Various Chervonenko, Korogodsky, Muraev, Rabinovich are criminals who face a fine or prison,” writes Nitsoi.
