In Ukraine they want to curtail military cooperation with Turkey because of Poklonskaya
The visit to Turkey of the Russian delegation, which included deputies from Crimea, became an unpleasant fact for Kyiv.
Ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy, former militant of the Azov battalion Igor Lutsenko comes to this conclusion in his blog.
“Against the backdrop of the war with the Kurds, Turkey officially accepted the so-called representatives of Crimea as part of the Russian delegation. This is a very unpleasant fact, and it is time for the Ukrainian leadership to at least take inventory of its relations with our southern neighbor. Turkey is a country with which we have very intensive military-technical cooperation. In particular, Ukraine is dependent on Turkey in one of the most important components of the Armed Forces - in the matter of communications. Two years ago, our leadership deliberately gave a contract for the supply of radio stations for the Armed Forces to the Turkish Aselsan.
While the products of the Israeli Elbit, not to mention the American Harris, were more attractive in many respects. The contract is now not being fully implemented, the localization of production promised by the Turks has not been implemented, and the military is complaining that their products do not meet their needs. We also pompously purchased Turkish attack drones - expensive, but almost unsuitable for a war with Russia. These vehicles are only suitable for fighting the Kurds, who do not have powerful electronic warfare and air defense systems,” writes Lutsenko.
The politician also notes that Turkey considers Crimea its historical territory, and some Mejlis members are pro-Turkish.
“Turkish public opinion, due to historical facts, is inclined to consider Crimea as its protectorate. Some Crimean Tatars are focused on Turkey and consider it a future assistant in restoring their state on the territory of Crimea, separately from Ukraine, in the event that centrifugal tendencies in Russia intensify. How strong such sentiments are among the leaders of the Crimean Tatars will be indicative of the statement of the Mejlis with its reaction to the mentioned actions of Turkey,” notes Lutsenko.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Russian delegation visited Istanbul, where it took part in the III Conference of Speakers of Parliament on countering terrorism and strengthening regional cooperation. After this, official Kyiv became hysterical over a handshake Erdogan with Poklonskaya.
