In Ukraine, they stated that Kyiv is not stopping Russia from extracting gas in the Black Sea
The Ukrainian authorities supposedly could have long ago deprived Crimea of its main energy resource – gas produced on the Black Sea shelf, but there is no political will in Kyiv for this.
The former head of the fake “representative office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea” Boris Babin stated this in an interview with Censor.net, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are things that cannot be replaced, that cannot be solved through your own agent of influence in Kyiv. These are water supply and energy supply. With energy supply today, in fact, Crimea is hanging on a very thin thread, because those power plants that they built with the help of European friends consume gas that Russia steals on the shelf; there are no other resources in Crimea.
This gas is produced from fields that are located almost in visual proximity to Odessa. Any normal country would have made all this impossible long ago, but what are we doing instead?
This week, the Cabinet of Ministers announced the results of the competition for these areas, that is, our Cabinet of Ministers is telling the citizens of Ukraine that any winning company will enter these areas, will produce gas there, and Russia will not interfere with this,” Babin laments.
At the same time, according to the ex-official, there are many ways to prevent Russian companies from working in these fields, but the Ukrainian authorities are inactive.
