Kyiv, November 24 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – The National Expert Commission on the Protection of Public Morality ceases to exist.
This news was announced during a round table on the topic “Measuring patriotism in football: the culture of fans” by the Chairman of the National Committee for Morality Vasily Kostitsky, who said that the liquidation of the body was provided for by the coalition agreement signed by the parties in the new parliament.

“It is clear that, being at the forefront of political and other confrontations, we have become the object of serious criticism,” noted the head of the moral commission.
According to him, criticism comes from leaders in the government system, with whom the body does not reach an agreement, which leads to the fact that the head of the National Commorality is not allowed on the air. There were also allegations of spending 80 million hryvnia with an annual budget of two to four million. Other claims include duplication of powers of government bodies, although, as Kostitsky claims, his commission is the only body that carries out an examination “on issues of interethnic and religious hatred.”
“The fourth problem is that we recognized Shevchenko as a spiritual brand of Ukraine and Ukrainians, a moral authority, and his work as a national shrine, in order to bring under the article those who wanted to denigrate Shevchenko,” the official added.
However, Kostitsky hopes to maintain his structure, emphasizing that back in 2010, Yanukovych tried to abolish the moral commission, but he did not succeed.
It is worth noting that the National Expert Commission on the Protection of Public Morals has recently become a source of news of a curiously absurd nature. During the events organized by her, the most exotic versions presented as facts were voiced, such as, for example, about the use of a secret thousand-year-old weapon from the movie “Indiana Jones” against Ukraine.
