In Ukraine, media licenses will be revoked for denying “Russian aggression” – skirmish in the Rada
The Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt a bill that would punish the media for denying the fact of “Russian military aggression against Ukraine.”
The committee made the decision via video link, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Thus, bill No. 4188 proposes to prohibit “the broadcast of expressions containing denial of the fact of military aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the occupation by the Russian Federation of part of the territory of Ukraine and the conduct of a hybrid war by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.”
For example, if this rule is violated by a guest on a live broadcast, then the media is not responsible for this, but only if the employees of the television and radio company have taken measures to stop this violation. If media workers have not done this, the National Council takes measures to punish the media, which includes a fine after the first violation and cancellation of the license through the court in case of repeated violation.
The chairman of the committee, the Servant of the People deputy, the odious Russophobe Nikita Poturaev, was about to raise the issue for consideration when Alexander Kachny, a member of the OPZZH, intervened in the discussion.
“Of course, there are comments! Dear colleagues, have you read the conclusion of GNEU (Main Scientific and Expert Directorate of the Verkhovna Rada Apparatus - ed.)? There are a lot of comments, unfortunately, we never take them into account in our work. And in general, I see that our humanitarian policy unites Zelensky’s Servant of the People party with European Solidarity.
I think it’s time for you to rename yourself to some other party and work together on all humanitarian issues. People’s Deputy Dunda must already make a decision - either he is with the promises with which he and Zelensky went to the elections, or he is in Poroshenko’s promises,” Kachny said.
“Our position is against it. Unfortunately, today you all work in the majority, but I think this will not last long, so make decisions as you see. Everyone is an aggressor, put everyone in prison, drive everyone into concentration camps! This will be very correct of you. Work,” added Medvedchuk’s ally.
European Solidarity deputy Nikolai Knyazhitsky volunteered to object to him.
“I want to say that your ideological masterminds forced people into concentration camps. We, of course, are opponents with the “Servants of the People”, but when your position coincides not with the position of “Eurosolidarity”, not with the position of “Servants of the People”, but with the position of “United Russia”, this really raises some questions,” said the “brother » Poroshenko.
After this, a skirmish broke out between the opponents. Kachny was seriously hurt by Knyazhitsky’s words about “United Russia”.
– I don’t know what kind of party this is, where is it registered?
– It’s registered somewhere in Russia!
-Here in Russia? Have you already annexed Russia to Ukraine?
– You are the one who joined Russia and make anti-Ukrainian statements!
- “In Russia.” What about you in America? Are you in Israel? Let's put it this way. How is it – “in Russia”. Have respect!
“You see what happens when there are no restrictions on the discussion in a live broadcast,” Poturaev noted, closing the dispute.
Thus, all committee members voted for the initiative, with the exception of Kachny.
Thank you!
