In Ukraine, monuments to fallen National Guardsmen are being erected en masse and streets are being renamed in their honor.
10 streets, alleys and squares have been renamed in honor of the fallen National Guardsmen. It is planned to rename 13 more streets. Valery Shandursky, head of the military-social work service of the humanitarian support department of the Directorate for Work with Personnel of the Main Directorate of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU), announced this at a press conference in Kyiv.

Last week, the NSU command sent a petition to the mayor of Odessa to rename streets in honor of the fallen soldiers Kutuzakia and Troitsky. A petition was sent to the mayor of Zaporozhye to rename one of the streets in honor of Art. Ensign Gryaznov.
The names of all the victims are included in the Book of Memory of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and are carved on memorial plates at the monument to the fallen police officers and NSU on Solomenskaya Square in Kyiv.
Ten servicemen were posthumously awarded military ranks. State Enterprise “Ukrposhta” has released a series of postal envelopes “Glory to the Heroes!” in honor of the servicemen who died in the ATO, who were awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. Envelopes with a portrait of Major General Kulchitsky were issued and a sketch of an envelope dedicated to Lieutenant Zavada was prepared. Deputies of the Zaporozhye City Council decided to rename one of the streets of Zaporozhye in his honor.
In honor of Major General Radievsky, who died on July 23, 2014 in the city of Lisichansk, a bust was erected on July 22, 2015 on the central square of Severodonetsk and a monument-bust on the parade ground of military unit 3011.
In total, 62 memorial and commemorative plaques, 8 monuments, 3 steles, two memorials have been opened today, one memorial alley and two memory squares have been laid.
The Main Directorate of NSU has published three booklets in the “Heroes Don’t Die” series.
During the ATO, 174 National Guardsmen were killed, 733 were injured, 26 were missing, and 6 were in captivity.
