In Ukraine, they calculated 10 billion in damage from the construction of the Crimean Bridge and opened a criminal case
The "Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea", created by Kiev, opened a criminal case on the fact of "violation of environmental safety rules during the construction of a transport crossing across the Kerch Strait."
This is stated in the official blog of the department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The department clarified that according to Ukrainian experts, environmental damage from the construction of the bridge amounted to UAH 10 billion.
“The main contractor for the design and construction of the bridge, the contractor and the subcontractor, who in connection with this have already fallen under US sanctions, have been identified. A number of European companies are being inspected for supplying equipment for the illegal construction of a bridge to the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” the “ARC Prosecutor’s Office” stated.
At the same time, Russian journalists present at the opening ceremony of the bridge noted that the environmental situation, on the contrary, has improved.
“It is already a fairly well-known fact that the bridge piles are overgrown with shells, algae, and plankton. This created an additional food supply for fish and dolphins began to swim here. And, lo and behold, the number of dolphins has even increased – such an unexpected result and effect,” journalist Yuri Bogdanov said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
