In Ukraine they found a “scapegoat” for the country’s economic problems
Speaking at the round table “Russian interference in the Ukrainian elections as an element of a hybrid war” in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the head of the subcommittee on state security of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, Andrei Levus, accused the oligarch Dmitry Firtash of organizing strikes at his chemical enterprises and stated, that such measures will allegedly be used by Russia to destabilize the situation in Ukraine during the elections, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We know that the chemical enterprises of Firtash, who is a direct representative of the Mogilevich criminal group, who is the number one enemy of the entire civilized world, he is number one on the FBI list. His representative Firtash owns TV channels, chemical plants, regional power companies. Think about the situation. Do you think this won't be used? This is already in use. This TV channel wages an aggressive campaign of destabilization on a daily basis. Chemical enterprises - both in Cherkasy and Severodonetsk - have already stopped work and went on strike. And this leads to problems in the agro-industrial complex. And like dominoes, all sectors of the economy are included. If such a complex attack is thought out, which will have an informational, economic and, as a result, political effect, is Ukraine ready for such challenges now? We partially felt such an attack in 2014, including on the economic, political, and military planes. I think it is now easier for Russia to spend time, money and effort to take advantage of the hot situation during the election process and show that in Ukraine there is chaos, an uncontrollable situation, an eternal crisis, strikes, no light...”, Yatsenyuk’s comrade-in-arms is frightening.
Let us note that in fact, the shutdown of the chemical enterprises Azot (Cherkasy) and Severodonetsk Azot was associated with an increase in gas prices. In addition, Dmitry Firtash does not own regional power companies in Ukraine, as Andrey Levus claims.
