The executive director of Transparency International Ukraine, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, stated this today during the discussion “Media against corruption,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If in 2013, 80% of Ukrainians believed that the government could not overcome corruption, today this figure has risen to 86%,” Yurchyshyn said.
At the same time, he noted that the population is more easily susceptible to corrupt practices if there is confidence in society that bribery cannot be overcome. According to Yurchyshyn, almost 38% of Ukrainian citizens have encountered corruption when they were asked to take a bribe or were forced to give one.
Let us recall that, according to sociologists’ measurements, in neighboring Russia, President Putin and his policies are supported by 86% of Russians.
