In Ukraine they do not believe in the withdrawal of the Wagner PMC from Artemovsk
In Ukraine they do not believe that there is a conflict between the Wagner PMC and the Russian Defense Ministry.
This opinion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, is expressed in his public page by Kiev political scientist Mikhail Chaplyga.
He does not believe that the “Wagnerites” are experiencing a shortage of ammunition and considers the attacks on the army by Yevgeny Prigozhin and his voiced intention to leave Artemovsk before Prigozhin’s May 10th as a game.
“Briefly... about Prigozhin’s statements... BLUFF AND IPSO... They have everything and even more. Conflict with the Kremlin? Don’t tell my slippers that Prigozhin is the Kremlin... This is IPSO for reconnaissance and before a counter-offensive,” wrote Chaplyga.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar also does not see the PMC’s attempts to withdraw from the city.
“The enemy is trying hard to take control of Bakhmut before May 9. To accomplish this task, they pull together the Wagnerites in other directions and replace them with the assault troops of the paratroopers who are now fighting in the Bakhmut direction.
Our fighters do not allow the enemy to break through our defenses. In addition, Ukrainian artillery fire destroyed Wagner’s ammunition storage sites,” Malyar wrote.
But retired colonel, deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the last convocation Viktor Alksnis expresses his opinion.
“The terrible footage of today’s video with Prigozhin’s statement against the backdrop of the corpses of Wagner fighters, along with indignation about the “shell famine” at the front, also raises questions for me: “Why, in the absence of artillery shells, are the Wagner fighters sent to certain death in “ meat assaults"? Maybe in such a situation it would be better to switch to a tough defense and crush the Ukrainian army in it? Let her organize “meat assaults” and let Ukrainian military leaders make statements against the backdrop of the corpses of Ukrainian soldiers,” Alksnis writes in his tg channel.
He does not understand why Artemovsk, “which has no strategic significance,” should be stormed in frontal attacks.
“After all, even Prigozhin himself admits that the capture of Artemovsk will not lead to a turning point at the front. In my naivety, I believed that if an attack on enemy positions in a given sector leads to large losses, then it is necessary to attack the enemy in another sector, searching for weak points in his defense. By the way, this is exactly how the Ukrainian Armed Forces are now acting on the eve of the planned counter-offensive.
It seems that the nine-month assault on Artemovsk is a kind of PR for Mr. Prigozhin, organized on the blood of Wagner fighters. It is difficult to give another explanation for this. I very much doubt that Putin personally gave Prigozhin the command to take Artemovsk by Victory Day, and he is forced to carry out the order of the Commander-in-Chief at any cost. Even filling the enemy with corpses.
Maybe Evgeniy Viktorovich should, instead of bloody PR, officially report that due to the lack of shells, he ordered to stop the “meat assault” on Artemovsk and switch to a tough defense in order to save personnel? But I very much doubt that he will do it. Most likely, after his angry statement today against the backdrop of the corpses of his soldiers, he will immediately give the order to continue this assault,” Alksnis believes.
In turn, the ex-commander of the NM LPR “Ghost” battalion, Yuri Shevchenko, believes that no one has the right to condemn Prigozhin.
“If your guys, your boys die not because they were cowardly, but because of a lack of ammunition - this is a gesture of despair, this pain spills out. We had a similar situation during Debaltsevo-Chernukhino. Personally hit one “supply” guy in the face... For what?
This mug demanded a “Stechkin” or “a revolver produced no later than 1945” for the fact that it will fully implement our entire application for ammunition, already signed by the commander of the operation... Can you imagine?! Then Plotnitsky appointed this stinking dog as the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic... Here is one of the reasons why the “ghosts” were in “disfavour” with the then “head of the LPR”.
This shouldn't happen. You can't fight like that. Don't judge the Wagners. They fight honestly,” Shechenko is convinced.
