Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan said this in an interview with Hromadsky, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We hope that the pilot concession roads Lviv-Krakovets and Kiev-Uman will be a component of the highway that will connect the Baltic and Black Seas, the so-called Go Highway from Gdansk to Odessa,” he noted, adding that the construction of such roads will begin in early 2019.
At the same time, Omelyan noted that concession roads will be built in parallel with existing free ones.
“Everyone will have a choice - either he takes a longer, not very convenient road, or chooses the European Autobahn, but pays money for it,” he said.
In addition, he added that the prospects for the development of toll roads in Ukraine depend on economic growth. Let us remind you that it was previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to reduce the maximum speed in populated areas to 50 km/h (the maximum permissible speed is 60 km/h).
