In Ukraine, they explained why “Javelins” are not visible on the front line
According to US conditions, Ukraine cannot use the received American Javelin anti-tank systems on the contact line in Donbass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by Deputy Minister for Issues of the so-called “temporarily occupied territories” and internally displaced persons Georgiy Tuka on the Direct TV channel.
The official also said that after the appearance of American weapons in Ukraine, on Russian channels in various talk shows “they created a quiet madhouse for two days.”
“The fact is that Javelin, no matter how anyone puffs out their cheeks, is the only third-generation anti-tank weapon in the world. That complex that Russians are so proud of, “Cornet,” is generation 2+,” said Tuka.
The deputy minister also explained why the lethal weapons received so far do not bring anything good for the Ukrainian military.
“Yes, today there are certain restrictions that have been adopted in relation to Ukraine. The condition is not to use these complexes directly on the contact line. But you must understand that this restriction can be canceled at any time. I constantly keep in touch with our military personnel - from soldiers to generals. A very common situation has been over the past year when armored vehicles - either an armored personnel carrier or an infantry fighting vehicle, or an enemy tank - travel to a certain distance, one and a half kilometers or two, in different ways, and feel complete impunity. According to the Minsk agreements, we can only use 80-caliber mortars, but it is almost impossible to hit a tank with such weapons; they begin to shoot at the positions of our soldiers,” he explained.
Earlier, the US State Department stated that Ukraine had already received Javelin anti-tank systems.
