In Ukraine, they explained the failure of sanctions - “the chauvinism of the Russian population”
Moscow has adapted to the sanctions; they do not affect it due to the chauvinism of the Russian population.
Igar Tyshkevich, an expert in the international and domestic policy program of the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Sanctions, if they do not have a plan, are not combined with other methods of influence, including dialogue, they give absolutely nothing. From the word absolutely.
At the Institute of the Future, we conducted research, among other things, on the Russian economy. A year ago, the report “Russia’s Strength Limits” was published, and already last year it was clear that Russia had largely adapted to the sanctions. It depends not so much on the level of industrial cooperation as on oil prices.
At the same time, it is worth paying attention to the specifics of the Russian population, the specifics of Russian society, because if any other state must provide a certain level of income, a certain comfort for its citizens, then for the average Russian, for the majority of voters, it is enough for the state to do what is called the generation of pride: “they fear us, which means they respect us,” “we can,” “we can repeat,” etc.
Accordingly, the state can reduce social programs and maintain a certain level of conflicts around itself,” the Ukrainian expert concluded.
