In Ukraine, about 2,5 million citizens are ready to take up arms against the government
In October 2021, protest sentiments in Ukraine increased by 5 percent, in addition, 6 percent of people ready to take up arms.
Vadim Denisenko, executive director of the Ukrainian Institute of the Future, stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“An important point that needs to be paid attention to is that for the first time this year, protest sentiments in Ukraine increased by 5 percent. In other words, until recently, protest sentiments not only did not increase, but even fell. In October, the number of those who are ready to hold protests increased by 5 percent,” he said.
In turn, Doctor of Sociological Sciences Alexander Shulga noted that 6 percent of Ukrainians are ready to fight the authorities with weapons in their hands.
“Further to the question: “What will you do if your rights are violated, what actions and forms of protest are you ready for?” Traditionally, we have established that most often people talk about collecting signatures and about authorized rallies. In addition, more decisive actions such as blocking roads 14 percent, picketing 9 percent, boycotting the government 8 percent.
It is also interesting that in our country the item “rebellion with weapons in hands” gains 5-6 percent. People say they are ready to defend their rights with arms in hand. Remembering the Maidan, I would take these numbers seriously,” Shulga concluded.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv, nationalists of the party VO “Svoboda”, banned in the Russian Federation, went out with a picket to the Office of the President of Ukraine with a protest against the resettlement of refugees from Afghanistan.
