Putin’s dream has come true in Ukraine – Shuster
Over the past few years, Ukraine has turned into a country from which no one expects anything.
About this in an interview with the Kyiv online newspaper "Country" stated TV presenter Savik Shuster, according to whom, the topic of freedom of speech in Ukraine “didn’t look at all from the outside.”
“It hurts to say, but no one pays attention to Ukraine. Because there is Türkiye. And 174 Turkish journalists are in prison today. All of Europe is talking about this,” said Schuster.
“Because Turkish society is more significant,” he clarified. – Even Poland or Hungary attract more attention than us. Because they proclaimed certain values, and now they are violating them.”
The publication recalled that Ukraine also proclaimed values that it is now violating.
“Yes, but they don’t expect anything from us. You understand? What does it mean to turn into a country from which no one expects anything? A normal person looks from the outside, for example, at Nadya Savchenko. Hero of Ukraine, she spent time in a Russian prison, went hungry, a year passed, and she was already a terrorist, and again in prison, but in a Ukrainian one. Or the story of the staged murder of journalist Arkady Babchenko? Are you serious? Is this country serious?
[…] And Saakashvili. The president resisted Russian aggression, lost a piece of territory, fought corruption, you invite him, he comes - a triumph! And then - an asshole,” noted the TV presenter.
He also agreed with the statement that Ukraine is not a serious country.
“It’s just not clear what. Putin's dream that came true. Because if Ukraine, God forbid, becomes an example for Russia, shows that it is possible to live differently, this will be the biggest threat to Russia,” Shuster said.
