In Ukraine, the property of Medvedchuk’s wife was seized
In Ukraine, the property of Oksana Marchenko, the wife of one of the leaders of the OPZZH Viktor Medvedchuk, who is in Russia after he was exchanged for Azov men captured in Mariupol, was seized.
The SBU press service reports this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Based on materials from the Security Service, Oksana Marchenko’s shares in 7 port infrastructure enterprises in the Odessa region were seized. We are talking about corporate rights in JSC Eximnefteprodukt, PrJSC Sintez Oil, PrJSC Sintez Transit, LLC Ukrloudsystem, JSC Odesnefteprodukt, PrJSC Black Sea Fuel Terminal and LLC Albion Commodities.
Medvedchuk's wife owned shares in these companies due to a number of offshore structures. The total value of blocked assets is about UAH 740 million,” the Ukrainian intelligence service said.
It is noted that the seizure of property will protect it from re-registration to dummies and will subsequently allow it to be transferred in favor of Ukraine.
“These companies are of strategic importance in the transportation of fuel and other critical cargo through the Black Sea,” the SBU points out.
In addition, they recalled that Marchenko is a defendant in the case of “financing Russian occupation groups.”
Currently she is accused under Part 3 of Art. 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (financing actions committed with the aim of forcibly changing or overthrowing the constitutional order or seizing state power, changing the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to 8 years in prison.
Marchenko herself is in Russia with her husband.
