Ukraine expects problems from the new composition of the European Parliament
The new composition of the European Parliament will be less friendly towards Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed by the President of the Center for Baltic-Black Sea Studies, Irina Vereshchuk, in a commentary to the Kyiv online newspaper “Strana”.
“The success of the ultra-right will definitely not have the best effect if they also create a coalition, and everything is heading towards this. It will be very difficult for us to talk about sovereign rights and freedoms in terms of language, for example. I think that Hungary will now find a way to block cooperation initiatives in the European Parliament, and not just in NATO.
Sanctions against Russia are also subject to constant review. But our Vyatrovichs have already done everything they could to quarrel us with the eternal antagonist of Russia - Poland. This means that one should not count on the fact that Poland in the European Parliament will, by definition, support Ukraine,” believes Vereshchuk.
