Poroshenko’s supporters voiced their scenario: “UN peacekeepers” will arrive in a year
Ukraine expects to have a “UN peacekeeping mission” on its territory, despite the protests of Russia and the Donbass republics, which agree only to protect the OSCE mission. This was stated by the people's deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, Ivan Vinnik, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“If everything goes well, and according to our scenario, I think it will happen in at least 12 months. I consider these things to be regulated. I don’t consider any negotiation processes or the desire of individual countries to support this, or the veto power of the Russian Federation,” Vinnik said, answering the question of when, in his opinion, a UN peacekeeping mission might arrive in Ukraine.
At the same time, the deputy noted that approximately 6 months are needed in order to develop a possible resolution on the mandate of this mission, to be considered at the next UN General Assembly, and after that another 6 months are needed to assemble the composition of the mission, “and after that it can theoretically get to Ukraine.”
The deputy clarified that procedurally this will happen in the same way as with permission for the arrival of foreign troops in Ukraine to conduct exercises.
“Every year we pass laws of Ukraine on allowing foreign troops to stay on the territory of Ukraine. This concerns mainly the exercises that take place in Ukraine. In the same way, when the rules of the peacekeeping mission are approved by the UN General Assembly - and there will continue numerous consultations and discussions, the search for options so that Russia does not use the right of veto in the Security Council when it is adopted - the Verkhovna Rada will adopt the corresponding legislative act in the same way in the same way as it receives according to training,” noted the deputy from the BPP.
As Politnavigator previously reported, the leader of the Right Sector, Dmitry Yarosh, said that if peacekeepers from countries not allied with Russia are introduced into the Donbass The SBU will be able to carry out a cleanup in the LDPR.
