According to him, thanks to the modern weapons stationed on the peninsula, the Russian army can cover half of Europe and the Middle East.
“The Crimean peninsula already has a military base that is larger than or equal to such large US military bases as Okinawa in Japan and Ramstein in Germany. According to our estimates, the number of military personnel on the Crimean peninsula has already exceeded 60 thousand people, and in the coming years will reach 100 thousand. The range of the Caliber cruise missiles in service with the Black Sea Fleet reaches 2,5 thousand km, that is, enough with a compass on the map draw a circle and you will see that this circle covers half of Europe and the Middle East. The potential of a brigade of landing ships of the Black Sea Fleet allows for the simultaneous landing of 6-7 battalions of marines with equipment. Undoubtedly, the southern regions of Ukraine from Odessa to Kherson regions are under threat,” Klimenko said.
