NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is reducing gas tariffs for the population from May 1, 2019, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The company's press service reported this.
“On instructions from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (CMU), NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, together with government representatives, has developed a new mechanism for determining the regulated price, which allows not only to avoid increasing the cost of gas for the population and thermal generation from May 1, 2019, but also to reduce it to the level 8247 UAH per thousand cubic meters. m (final retail price),” the message says.
It is noted that this approach and this price level were agreed upon at a meeting with the participation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman and Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz Andrey Kobolev.
According to this mechanism, if the market price of gas for industrial consumers is lower than that established in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of October 19, 2018, the price for the population will decrease accordingly. If the market price of gas for industry increases above the level determined by the government, then the price for the population will remain at this level.
