Kyiv, December 29 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The number of banned Russian films in Ukraine has reached two hundred, the head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinema, Philipp Ilyenko, said on TV channel.

He admitted that the artistic value of the film is not taken into account. The main thing is what message the picture conveys to the viewer.

“In total, we banned about 200 films, and these are not only films, but also television series. We are not guided by any aesthetic criteria. The artistic quality of a film has no bearing on the decision to ban a film. Russian cinema has been used as a propaganda tool for the last 10-15 years,” Ilyenko said.
