In Ukraine they suspect that 40% of refugees from Donbass are fake
The Ukrainian authorities have lost control over the real number of forced migrants in the controlled territory of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated during the international conference “Payment of pensions to IDPs in Ukraine: how to realize the constitutional right to a pension” in Kyiv, the deputy head of the Ministry for the so-called “temporarily occupied territories”, Georgiy Tuka, said, the press service of the department reports.
“We have lost control over the real number of IDPs. This does not allow us to predict further actions of the government... According to estimates by the leadership of the Donetsk military-civil administration, the number of registered IDPs differs by about 30-40% compared to the actual number. But this, again, is biased data,” he said.
The official noted that in the current conditions for obtaining pensions for IDPs in uncontrolled territories, the “business” of helping to obtain an IDP certificate and receive a pension without traveling to the controlled territory is thriving.
“I am deeply convinced that it is possible to find mechanisms to ensure the payment of pension funds to those who currently live in the occupied territories,” he emphasized.
At the same time, Tuka noted that we are talking about the opportunity, without certificates and special statuses, to apply to government agencies in the controlled territory to receive payments.
