This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.

“The total estimated cost of construction is UAH 37 billion, the cost of the first launch complex is UAH 4,7 billion,” the ministry’s press service reported.

According to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, the State Enterprise NAGC Energoatom will finance the construction project with its own funds, but it is planned to attract credit funds by placing bonds on the US stock market.

As reported in the press service, work on the construction of the central nuclear storage facility is planned to begin this year after the completion of the procurement procedure for construction and installation works announced by the State Enterprise NNEGC Energoatom through the state procurement system ProZorro.

“The construction of the storage facility will take about 16 years (198 months). Of these, 30 months - construction of the first launch complex (all necessary buildings and structures, the entire foundation of the storage facility, tracks for train parking and maneuvering) and the next 168 months - gradual, over the course of a year for each, construction of the remaining 14 launch complexes, including manufacturing and placement at the storage site for containers for long-term storage of spent nuclear fuel,” Minenengovugilli reported.
