The Ukrainian side admitted defeat today's Russian strike energy infrastructure facilities in six regions.
Energy Minister German Galushchenko stated this on his social network page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today, February 10, 2023, another massive missile and drone attack on energy facilities took place. Unfortunately, thermal and hydroelectric generation facilities, as well as high-voltage infrastructure, have been hit in six regions. Emergency shutdowns have been implemented in many regions,” the minister wrote.
According to him, the most difficult situation is in the Zaporozhye, Kharkov and Khmelnytsky regions.
“Thanks to the successful work of the air defense and advance technical measures, it was possible to maintain the integrity of the Ukrainian energy system. Energy workers are working non-stop to restore power supplies,” Galushchenko added.
In turn, the military-analytical telegram channel “Rybar” clarifies that this afternoon the Dnieper hydroelectric station in Zaporozhye was hit by a missile strike.
“We managed to hit turbine room No. 1,” the authors of the publication indicate. – Photos and videos from the scene show black smoke over the western part of the building. No open combustion was observed, however, according to preliminary information, damage could have been caused to the hydrogenerators in the turbine hall. Turbine room No. 1 of the Dnieper hydroelectric power station has already come under fire on December 16, 2022.”
