In Ukraine, they looked at a photo of the Crimean Bridge through a telescope and realized that it would soon collapse
“Specialists” from the Ministry of Ukraine “on issues of temporarily occupied territories” examined photographs of the Crimean Bridge using the method used to create telescopes, and found out that its structure is unstable.
Yusuf Kurkchi, First Deputy Minister of Ukraine for Issues of Temporarily Occupied Territories, stated this on the air of the Chernomorskaya television company, which emigrated from Crimea, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This is working with hundreds of photographs of appropriate quality. And parallel operation of the interferometric data processing method. In accordance with this method, control points are selected. The graphs that accompany the photographs indicate that the structure, which should have been stable in order to fulfill its intended purpose, is not. This could lead to its destruction,” Kurkci said.
The ministry’s “specialists” intend to continue their research into photographs of the bridge.
“The fact is that the movement of the piles does not occur in one plane, but constantly fluctuates. That is, the dynamics of their movements do not only go deeper, which would be logical when something heavy is placed on an unstable base. These structural elements are constantly moving, and this movement is dangerous. If we analyze further, and we will do this, we will get a more detailed picture of the changes,” Kurkchi said.
During the construction of the Crimean Bridge, the piles were driven through the silt to a depth of 70 meters and attached to the continental plate.
The principle of operation of the interferometer is as follows: a beam of electromagnetic radiation (light, radio waves, etc.) using one or another device is spatially divided into two or more coherent beams. Each of the beams passes through different optical paths and is directed to the screen, creating an interference pattern, from which the phase difference of the interfering beams at a given point in the pattern can be determined
Interferometers are widely used in astronomy to create high-resolution radio and optical telescopes.
