In Ukraine, American sensors for television broadcasting to Donbass were “lost”
Ukraine has failed its information policy on Crimea. Today, more than 11 million citizens of the country watch exclusively Russian television channels, and what was previously available for free via satellite has been encrypted by Ukrainian television companies.
In addition, the fate of expensive American transmitters, which were intended for the technical organization of broadcasting to Donbass, is unknown.
Former member of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting Sergei Kostinsky stated this on the air of the Public Crimea TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The question is that the state actually allowed 23 national TV channels to be encrypted, and because of this there is a shortage of Ukrainian television in the occupied territories. More than 11 million Ukrainians today watch only Russian TV channels through their satellite dishes, and fakes about Ukraine are spread primarily through this television. There are a lot of such moments.
There are problems with the fact that I, together with Yuri Stets and Emine Dzhepparova, were involved in obtaining 11 powerful digital transmitters for Ukraine. The American side, USAID, provided us with these transmitters. Before my dismissal, in early March, the installation of these transmitters along the demarcation line was completed - and today the fate of these transmitters is unknown.
And these transmitters were precisely intended to broadcast to temporarily occupied territories, so that our citizens had a signal and could watch, first of all, public broadcasting, which sets the standards for journalistic activity,” said the Ukrainian propagandist.
