This was stated at a press conference in Kyiv by the president of the public organization “Center for Research of Political Values” Oles Doniy, according to whom, the law on local elections adopted by the Verkhovna Rada became the most terrible law since independence.
“Instead of increasing political competition, it is aimed not just at strengthening parliamentary parties, but also at turning local councils into a kind of business councils,” the expert believes. – We are now analyzing the percentages, but not the list of candidates. The next miracle will happen when they see that most of them were businessmen. The elections, according to this law, were between money and big money. This is one of the elements of the further Russianization of the country.”
“This is not an increase in Roshen stores, but the use of any position for the purpose of personal material enrichment,” Doniy clarified. – The trouble is that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are involved in this Roshenization, who want to become little Poroshenites, and for this purpose took part in election campaigns. That is, our politics is becoming more and more commercialized. One of the elements is the current law. Under the current government, this commercialization is not decreasing, as it should have been after Euromaidan, but, on the contrary, is intensifying.”
