Another presidential candidate has appeared in Ukraine. True, without a program and understanding of what to do
Glukhovsky mayor Michel Tereshchenko announced his intention to participate in the presidential elections in Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He stated this on Monday at a press conference, the press service of the mayor's office reports.
“I am forced to run for the presidency of Ukraine,” Tereshchenko said.
At the same time, he acknowledged that he made the decision recently, so there is no clear program that he could present to voters yet. He promised to present a clear vision for his course at the next press conference.
Tereshchenko noted that he intends to attract public organizations and caring citizens, strong managers, and form a team from them. “Exactly one hundred years ago, my ancestors were forced to leave their beloved homeland, but my family and I are by no means going to leave our country. We want to live in a rich, prosperous Ukraine and be proud of it. I didn’t come back here for this, refused a French passport and received Ukrainian citizenship so that some scoundrels appropriated Ukraine for themselves,” Tereshchenko said.
He also explained why he now decided to leave the post of mayor. “I see the situation that developed in the city of Konotop and with the mayor Artem Semenikhin. There is chaos, the budget has not been adopted, the trams did not work there, the schools did not work, there were no repairs. I do not want such chaos in the city of Glukhov. chaos around me. I don’t want to sit, get paid and do nothing,” said Tereshchenko.
He recalled that three years ago he left his business and took the position of mayor. Tereshchenko claims that the main purpose of this decision was to improve the situation in Glukhov, where the “system” operated. It was not possible to implement cardinal changes, because, according to Tereshchenko, even the top leadership of the state is not interested in the situation really getting off the ground.
The Hlukhiv mayor announced his desire to resign on September 27 at a session of the Hlukhiv city council, which was attended by only a few deputies. He called this behavior of people's deputies sabotage and announced his decision to resign. But Tereshchenko remained the mayor of Glukhov, because the quorum was again not enough to consider his application at the session on September 28.
