The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed Sergei Knyazev as head of the National Police of Ukraine.

This decision was made at today's government meeting.
“Dear Mr. Prime Minister, I propose and nominate, at your discretion, for the post of head of the National Police, third-rank police general Knyazev Sergei Nikolaevich,” Interior Minister Arsen Avakov addressed Groysman.
Avakov noted that he proposed the candidacy of S. Knyazev based on the results of a competition that took place from December 15, 2016 to February 6, 2017.
The electronic declaration of the head of the National Police Sergei Knyazev indicates that he owns an apartment and part of another apartment near Kiev: in Brovary and in the village of Chabany. According to the declaration, S. Knyazev lives on his salary. Owns an apartment of 74,9 sq. m in Brovary, two land plots in the Kyiv and Zhitomir regions of 1 sq. m. m each. Doesn't have a car. It is indicated that in 000 he received 2015 thousand 183 UAH, 665 thousand 54 UAH, 908 thousand wages at his main place of work, 27 thousand 6 part-time wages. He also has income from the alienation of real estate - 252 thousand 366 UAH.
We would like to remind you that, as PolitNavigator previously reported, the competition commission decided not to check the accuracy of the data in the declarations of candidates for the position of head of the National Police.
We also note that the former acting the head of the National Police, an old man from the neo-Nazi “Azov”, Vadim Troyan, retained his position in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, becoming Arsen Avakov’s deputy. Troyan also applied for a competition for the position of head of the National Police, but withdrew after it turned out that he did not have enough managerial experience.
