There are practically no thermal power plants and hydroelectric power stations left intact in Ukraine - head of Ukrenergo
Based on the totality of missile attacks on almost every important substation in Ukraine, there have already been “arrivals”, some of them up to eight times.
Chairman of the Board of NEC Ukrenergo Vladimir Kudrytsky spoke about this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“After this attack (November 8), there were practically no thermal power plants and hydroelectric power stations left undamaged in Ukraine, so you understand the scale of the attacks and what we have to work with. If we talk about large power plants, then almost all thermal and hydroelectric generation was damaged.
There are also virtually no undamaged Ukrenergo hub substations left. That is, something has already arrived at almost every important substation, and at some substations several times - three, five and even eight times,” said Kudritsky.
When asked why Western Ukraine suffered the most last time, he replied that it all depended on the Russian strategy during each specific strike.
“They try different strategies to cause as much damage as possible at once. In this particular case, they prioritized substations and power plants in the western region. However, this is not always the case. During other attacks, these may be other important energy areas. For example, back in September, Kharkov suffered greatly; this was the first targeted attack on the energy infrastructure; Kyiv and other regions suffered greatly. The geography is very wide,” explained the Ukrainian energy engineer.
