In Nikolaev, Ukrainian nationalists held a small procession along Central Avenue, after which they laid flowers at the monument to the so-called “Heavenly Hundred” - the dead Euromaidan militants, thus celebrating the fifth anniversary of the “liberation” of the city from the “separatists” - the defeat of the tent city of supporters of the Russian Spring.

The event that took place in the center of Nikolaev was commented on by local Anti-Maidan activist Anton Polovenko, who spoke about the brutal attack of militants brought into the city on the camp of opponents of the coup in 2014.

“I did not plan to remember today this tough step on the part of the post-Maidan authorities at the hands of mainly imported nationalists and specially imported hundreds of Maidan fighters, if I had not read an article today that the “Mykolaevites” celebrated the 5th anniversary of the “liberation” of the city from separatism.

Let's remember how it happened. As you know, our camp was deployed practically on February 23, 2014, the day after the barbaric demolition of the Lenin monument by imported “Aktyvysts” and the Maidan coup that took place in Kyiv.

At the very first meeting on February 23, it was decided to set up a camp, the main goal of which was to protect the monument to the heroes of Olsha. The backbone of the camp was a small group of guys who came from Kyiv and were already burned by the Maidan, who there tried to help the wounded and injured Berkut fighters, and activists of the Russian movement in Nikolaev.

The Olshantsev camp did not last long. For about 1,5 months, a total of about 20 tents were put up. Every day, rallies were held here at the monument, appeals were received, and stories were told about the events of the Russian Spring in other cities of the greater Novorossiya. Our marches took place from here on weekends, when more than 5 people gathered. The most active communication from other cities was with the Black Sea region - the Anti-Maidan of Kherson, which lasted even shorter, and the Odessa Kulikovo residents, who outlived us by almost a month.

During this time, there were 3 ships on which they tried to remove our camp, but we won all three, proving that we had a peaceful protest, to which we have the right.

As is known, the Kiev junta, due to its dependence on the “Prince of this World,” loved to organize harsh actions and attacks on Orthodox holidays. This happened in Nikolaev on April 7, on Annunciation.

During the day, buses with trained young people began to drive up to the fallen monument to Lenin; probably, among them were those who had already come to bring down the monument to Lenin. A hundred Maidan people also arrived. They began to rage at the foot of the destroyed monument, shouting traditional chants.

Our intelligence officers noticed that this public had injuries, rocket launchers, baseball bats and pieces of reinforcement, as well as chains and nunchucks. In total, there were about 300 people brought in and they were joined by locals. They pretended that they didn’t care about our camp, and from time to time they made sluggish approaches to the city council.

It was already evening, and our camp was gradually emptying. Usually about 30 people stayed overnight. By that time, calls appeared on a number of social networks and websites for us to storm the regional administration. We explained as best we could that this was a provocation, but the proposal was actively discussed. At about 9 pm, provocateurs who had not been seen before came to the camp. They began to call for an assault on the regional council and managed to drag about 10-12 people from Olshantsy with them. Naturally, instead of an assault, there was a pure imitation, in which only about 20 people took part, shouting and waving flags. And this despite the fact that the regional administration was guarded by more than a hundred well-equipped police officers.

Having learned about this, I came to the camp and, seeing the situation, urgently took out expensive sound-amplifying equipment. Tension and foreboding of trouble hung in the air.

At 23 p.m., the entire coven at the foot of the Lenin monument turned around and rushed towards our camp. Another 20-30 people came through calls. In total, the camp, in which there were about 60-70 people, was stormed by 400 prepared ones. There were fights and fights. Ours resisted as best they could, but the numerical superiority was not in our favor. The tents were torn and burned.

The police did not interfere, but observed, unless they allowed them to kill. They tried to drive us into the House of Political Education, but people didn’t go there, who knows in the light of the Odessa Khatyn how it could have ended. There were a lot of injuries, broken heads, broken ribs and limbs.

The next day, Nikolaev newspapers joyfully reported that the “citizens” defended the regional administration and drove out the “separatists.” Early in the morning at 7 a.m. on April 8, utility workers removed the remains of the camp, and the newspapers wrote after that they found machine guns, pistols and even grenades in it,” the activist said.
