In Ukraine, they propose to deprive millions of people of citizenship
All holders of a second passport in Ukraine should be deprived of Ukrainian citizenship.
Ruslan Koshulinsky, deputy head of the Svoboda organization and former vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, Ukrainian citizens who own second passports will not fight for “independence” if necessary.
“There is a law, it must be adhered to, especially in times of war. I wanted a second passport - all the best... The only punishment in Ukraine for dual and sometimes triple citizenship is deprivation of citizenship. Presidential decree on deprivation of citizenship. Deprive them of citizenship, what a problem. Do you think they will defend our country, they will go to defend our country, these men will stand shoulder to shoulder? Please accept another citizenship – all the best,” said Koshulinsky.
Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada registered presidential bill No. 8297, which provides for the loss of Ukrainian citizenship for participating in voting in elections in Crimea.
Ukrainian politician Yevgeniy Chervonenko noted that deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship of persons with a second passport is an instrument of power to combat undesirables by voters.
"Reedus" wrote that the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship will be simplified for Ukrainian citizens.
