If we are going to bury the border with Russia, as Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Vladimir Omelyan proposed, then we must start by abandoning Russian coal and gas.

This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv by former Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Aleksey Kucherenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He criticized Omelyan’s statement about the possible termination of passenger rail traffic with Russia.

“Do you want a cordon? Let's think about where we start. Let's cut off the coal from Russia, which is coming in bulk, let's cut off the gas pipe. Ukrtransgaz receives 3 billion dollars from Russia - let's cut off this stinking gas and these 3 billion dollars with hatred.. What else are we buying there? Fuel rods.. This is rattling slogans, and even in the mouth of a minister... This is not the authority of the minister, this is a serious political issue,” Kucherenko said.
