Ukraine only at the political level declares a regime of silence in Donbass. In fact, the task of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is “active defense.” Military expert Sergei Grabsky stated this on Channel 5.

According to him, the Ukrainian army is actively “wedging” into the “gray zone” and imposing directions of activity on the armies of the LPR and DPR.
“The regime of silence is more a political statement than reality. From a military point of view, we have a situation where neither side of the conflict has achieved such an advantage or situation that makes further actions impossible or creates a safe zone for them. We have wedges of Ukrainian troops in Gorlovka, we have active positions of Ukrainian troops near Dokuchaevsk, we have quite powerful positions in the Popasnaya area. We are putting pressure on the occupiers’ pain points and it is absolutely natural that they will try to push us aside because we are disturbing them,” the expert said.
“Our wedging near Avdeevka is aimed not only at securing the Avdeevka coking plant. But also the fact that we cut the route and made maneuvers of the occupying units impossible... The operational initiative is on our side, we dictate to the enemy the directions of greatest activity. Despite the fact that such statements are made about shelling of our territory, we respond, we are actively defending ourselves. This is what tasks are being set for our Armed Forces at the moment,” Grabsky said.
