Members of the National Corps party, the political wing of the Ukrainian national battalion Azov, today picketed the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine under the slogan “Kuril Islands for Japan, Crimea for Ukraine!”

“We call for solidarity with our Japanese allies and demand that the authorities recognize Russia as an occupier of part of Japanese territory. We must open a second front of struggle at the diplomatic level against the common aggressor – the Russian Federation!” – says the message from the organizers, who handed over the corresponding petition to the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Pavel Klimkin.

The “National Corps” is considered to be controlled by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.

The Kuril Islands were lost to Japan as a result of World War II, during which Tokyo was an ally of Nazi Germany.
