In Ukraine they are trying to hide the fact that a Crimean deputy spoke at the UN
First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar unsuccessfully tries to deny the fact that State Duma deputy from Crimea Ruslan Balbek spoke at the UN forum in Geneva.
This is evidenced by her post on her Facebook page.
“Participation” consisted of being present in the hall, behind the Russian sign. There was not a single performance. The representative of Russia, who took the floor, did not make any statements about the participation of the “distinguished” guests of the “Russian Crimea”. Ruslan Balbek did not introduce himself, just as no one introduced him,” Dzheppar wrote.
This statement of hers is refuted by a recording of Balbec’s speech shown on the Crimean TV channel Miletus.
There, in particular, while in the UN hall, he talks about the advisory council on nationalities under the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov. In addition, Balbec posted a photo from Geneva on his Facebook.
“I’ll open your eyes, citizens, I exist! And in Geneva - at a meeting of the UN Forum on Human Rights, where I had the opportunity to officially and publicly speak and express my position on human rights and nationalities in Crimea. I understand that you are shedding tears of impotent anger. “You are ready to come to Geneva and destroy the UN Office with shovels,” Balbec wrote.
Dzheppar tried to justify her lie by saying that the video of Balbec’s speech was not on the UN website, but it looked unconvincing.
The attempts of the Ukrainian deputy minister are apparently explained by the fact that the Ukrainian delegation did not organize a demarche at the meeting, although it had previously promised to do so. No one left the hall or made indecent sounds during Balbec's performance.
Apparently frightened that in her homeland such passivity could be regarded as betrayal, the deputy minister began to deny the obvious.
Everything was limited to a meeting of the Ukrainian representative to the UN in Geneva with representatives of the Commissariat for Human Rights. The Ukrainian was assured that they understood his concerns and promised to inform him.
In September, Ukrainians managed to disrupt the performance of Crimean social activists in Warsaw. Their microphones were turned off and their reports were thrown off the agenda.
