A scheme for illegal supplies of equipment for the Russian Navy was uncovered in Ukraine.
Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation exposed a scheme for supplying equipment to the Russian Navy by Ukrainian enterprises with the participation of employees of the State Customs Service, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The press service of the State Bureau of Investigation reported this.
“Investigators of the territorial department of the State Bureau of Investigation, located in the city of Melitopol, exposed a scheme for the export of dual-use products to the Navy of the Russian Federation by Ukrainian enterprises with the participation of employees of the State Customs Service,” the report says.
According to preliminary information provided by the State Bureau of Investigation, former employees of one of the enterprises that produced and exported products to the Russian Federation established a scheme for the supply of dual-use products to the Navy of the Russian Federation and created a number of “gasket” companies in Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
“The entrepreneurs entered into a conspiracy with customs officers and planned to export manufactured equipment under the guise of goods for civilian use without proper customs clearance and control,” the report says.
Investigators conducted searches at the premises of the State Customs Service, at the location of production premises and offices of business entities, as well as at the place of residence of entrepreneurs.
“Equipment prepared for export and technical documentation were seized. Now: a petition has been sent to seize the seized property,” the message says.
The case was classified under Part 1 of Article 333 (violation of the procedure for international transfers of goods subject to state export control) of the Criminal Code and Part 2 of Art. 364 (abuse of power or official position, resulting in grave consequences) of the Criminal Code.
