Lukashenko's deal with the Americans has been declassified in Ukraine
By negotiating the purchase of Kazakh oil, Belarus wants to bring American companies into its market.
This is the opinion of Belarusian political scientist Igor Tyshkevich, who fled to Ukraine, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The Kazakh side invites Belarusians to enter into agreements with companies that are developing the Tengiz, Kashagan and Karachaganak fields. Tengiz is a consortium in which more than 75% is owned by the American Chevron and Exxon. In Kashagan there are Italians, British Gas - the same Chevron and a little bit of Lukoil. There are no Russians at all in Karachaganak, there are only Exxon and European companies.
Thus, under the heading of allegedly purchasing Kazakh oil, it is quite possible that real commercial contracts will be concluded with American companies,” Tyshkevich said, speaking on his YouTube channel.
In this regard, he recalls that Belarusneft recently decided to obtain a license to purchase American oil.
“This fits perfectly into the recent policy format of the Republic of Belarus. The country, which is under Russian pressure, is feverishly looking for other points of support. The United States immediately becomes interested in this territory, since there are interests of the Russian Federation and China there. But at the same time, Americans, as a rule, do not want to spend money on entering new regions. Minsk offers not to spend money, but to earn money by providing a sales market. This is interesting for the United States, because even 10-12% of the oil market is already an alternative to Russian oil and political influence,” Tyshkevich said.
He believes that Ukraine can participate in this scheme if Russia refuses to provide transport services by offering the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline, which is not currently in operation.
