In Ukraine, the number of supporters of the special status of Donbass is growing
Almost 60% of Ukrainian citizens are in favor of diplomatic ways to resolve the problem of the war in Donbass, with 29% agreeing to changing the status of uncontrolled territories.
This is evidenced by the results of a sociological survey conducted by the sociological group “Rating,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
22% are in favor of granting these territories independent or federal status within Ukraine. 7% are in favor of the complete separation of these territories, and this share is approximately the same in all regions and among all age categories.
37% of respondents are in favor of ending hostilities and freezing the conflict, and uncontrolled territories should be recognized as temporarily occupied.
18% of respondents support the continuation of military operations until the complete restoration of Ukrainian power throughout the Donbass. Their share is relatively higher among residents of the western regions and the capital, voters of Ruslan Koshulinsky and Petro Poroshenko.
The survey was conducted from January 16 to January 24, 2019. 6000 respondents were interviewed using a formal interview (face-to-face). The error in the representativeness of the study is no more than 1,3%.
