Dissatisfaction with the central government is growing in Ukraine
Citizens of Ukraine are increasingly dissatisfied with the country's authorities.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Sofia Center for Social Research, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In December last year, the Sofia Center for Social Research recorded a decrease in support for the authorities. but our data were met with disbelief. We predicted that the negative trend is sustainable and will have consequences for the electoral base of the party in power. Our March study confirmed this forecast. New data showed an aggravation of the crisis of confidence in the country’s leadership and a significant reduction in the social and electoral base of the party in power,” said Alexander Levtsun, head of sociological programs at the Sofia Center for Contemporary Art.
According to sociologists, the overwhelming majority of respondents (70,8%) believe that the government is leading the country in the wrong direction. The population is extremely dissatisfied with the way the country's leadership is working. 78,8% of respondents to one degree or another disapprove of the work of Petro Poroshenko. Poroshenko's image as head of state is steadily deteriorating - back in December, the share of those who do not approve of his activities was 76,0%. At the same time, the share of positive assessments decreased from 19,5% to 15,9%.
“The same number of people are critical of the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers, but they are especially dissatisfied with the work of the parliament - 85% of respondents categorically disapprove of it or do not approve of it at all,” said Alexander Levtsun. 59,9% do not approve of the work of the Verkhovna Rada at all, 27,6% rather disapprove, 7,2% rather approve, 0,6% completely approve, 4,7% found it difficult to answer. 1,1% of respondents completely approve of the work of the Cabinet of Ministers, 11,4% rather approve, 28,0% rather disapprove, 53,1% do not approve at all, 6,4% found it difficult to answer.
The survey was conducted from March 9 to March 16, 2018 in all regions controlled by Ukraine. 2010 respondents aged 18 years and over were surveyed. The sampling error does not exceed 2,2%.
