In Ukraine, the demand for chocolate is growing and the demand for bread is falling.
The production of chocolate products in Ukraine is growing, while confectionery and bakery production is decreasing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the Food Export Council with reference to data from the State Statistics Committee.
At the end of three months of 2019, domestic production of confectionery and bakery products decreased by 3,9% and 4,5%, respectively, when compared with the same period in 2018.
At that time, the production of chocolate products showed insignificant, but still positive dynamics - 0,8%.
The demand for chocolate products has a stable and growing dynamic. This situation not only supports import supplies, but also reduces the stock of finished products.
Ukrainian chocolate products show an increase (47,3 thousand tons in 2019 versus 46,9 thousand tons in January-March 2018).
The reason for this situation is the increase in the production of sweets with alcohol content (+ 8,9% in January-March), chocolate in briquettes, plates or bars with the addition of grain crops (+ 51,9%), chocolate in briquettes, plates or bars with filling (+ 10,3%) and chocolate and similar products containing cocoa in briquettes, plates or bars weighing more than 2 kg (24,3%).
