This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, by Ukrainian political expert Mikhail Pavliv, answering the question why the authorities continue to whip up anti-communist hysteria in the country.
“The fight against communists is technology,” the expert believes. – In Ukraine, the center-right and the extremely radical right have one common request - the fight against the so-called Soviet past, which personifies the Communist Party of Ukraine. If you send a message to society that you are an active fighter against the Communist Party of Ukraine, then you become associated in society with the idea of fighting the “Soviet” legacy. This is the work of consultants, nothing more. The Communist Party today does not pose any threat to the current government.”
At the same time, the political scientist noted that in Ukraine, in the context of falling living standards, left-wing electoral sentiments are growing.
“The fact that now there is no left-wing political force that could pick up this request is an objective reality,” Pavliv concluded. – Tsushko did nothing anywhere during the four or five months of launching his project. The CPU is completely down today. The Union of Left Forces or the socialists are not showing themselves or do not currently have the organizational capacity to do so. In fact, we have a growing huge black hole of leftist demand that is not backed by political force.”
