The chairman of the board of the Ukrainian Institute of Social Research, Olga Balakireva, announced this at a press conference in Kyiv, noting that the past year has not improved the situation with public distrust in the Ukrainian state and its main institutions.
“At the beginning of the year they said that the balance of trust in the armed forces, the church, and public organizations remained positive. Yes, it remains positive, but today it has significantly decreased compared to the armed forces,” the sociologist noted.
According to her data, if previously the number of those who trusted the army was 32 percent higher than the number of those who did not, today the difference has decreased significantly and is only 6 percent.
“And the point is not in the armed forces, but in the fact that the state and its institutions today are not considered by the population as the forms that protect them. In fact, the state is falling apart before our eyes,” Balakireva concluded.
