In Ukraine, a famous plant was put under the hammer
In Ukraine, the Okean shipyard, which built tankers, bulk carriers and Panamax vessels, was sold for 122 million hryvnia.
Local political strategist Fyodor Levchenko reported this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the expert, the new owner of the plant was the Annona Trading House company, owned by local businessman Igor Voloshin. He is also the former head of the creditors’ committee of PJSC NSZ Ocean.
According to the Nikolaev news resource NikVesti, the initial price of the plant was 1,1 billion hryvnia, but was reduced to 93 million, after which the bidding began. The Annona company won, offering 122 million 195 thousand hryvnia for the lot.
“I am sure that you and I will all build ships, steamships, vessels for the benefit of our Ukraine. I congratulate you all on the fact that more than a thousand people, plant workers, will receive more than 90 million hryvnia of their debt. You know that this is a team of professionals and patriots of their country. This is a struggle and a path that we have all gone through together,” Voloshin said after the auction.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that the Ukrainian government sells under the hammer the largest Nikolaev shipyard, from whose stocks aircraft carriers and cruisers once rolled out for the USSR Navy.
