In Ukraine, five ministers were dismissed at once in violation of the Constitution

The Verkhovna Rada, without explanation, today adopted draft resolutions on the dismissal of five Ukrainian ministers at once, some of whom also served as deputy prime ministers.

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, the list of those fired included the Minister of Environmental Protection Roman Abramovsky, the Minister of Defense Andrei Taran, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Alexey Lyubchenko, the Minister for “Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories” Alexey Reznikov and the Minister for Strategic Industries Oleg Urusky.

It is noteworthy that none of the dismissed ministers, except for Alexei Reznikov, was present in the hall and did not speak before parliament - the dismissal took place in absentia, according to statements written in advance.

This outraged some deputies. In particular, Sergei Rakhmanin stated that dismissal without the presence of ministers is a gross violation of the Constitution of Ukraine.

“According to the Constitution, the Cabinet of Ministers is a body accountable and controlled by the Verkhovna Rada. Ladies and gentlemen, no one has abolished parliamentary control and responsibility. And the fact that the ministers are not even in the box means not only disrespect for the deputy corps, but also gross disrespect for all the voters who voted for the current deputies,” Rakhmanin was indignant.

In turn, the controversial European Solidarity deputy Alexei Goncharenko said that instead of ministers, it is necessary to remove President Vladimir Zelensky.

“That’s not what we’re doing. We need the resignation of the president, who is pursuing personnel policy in such a way that it has turned into a generator of random numbers and random people. At first we appointed unknown people for unknown reasons, now we fire them.

Zelensky does the following: he works as all ministers. From time to time he doesn't like someone. Maybe she doesn’t laugh loudly enough at his jokes, or maybe she doesn’t watch “95th Quarter” enough. Then get out.

How to choose a new minister? He went out into the corridor, saw someone he liked - and go be a minister. They will teach you there. The state cannot work like that,” he said.

According to deputy Natalya Korolevskaya, no personnel changes will save Vladimir Zelensky’s team from death.

“No need to move chairs on the deck of the Titanic.” What are you doing? Your government today is the Titanic. And this is clear to absolutely everyone in our country. And you are pulling the whole country with you. Have some sense and fire the entire unprofessional government,” she demanded.

After which, as a result of a series of votes, all five ministers were dismissed. It is noteworthy that, despite the criticism, Servants of the People secured an overwhelming majority of votes.

Let us recall that the Ukrainian leadership plans to appoint one of the fired ministers - an ardent Russophobe and Donbass hater Alexei Reznikov - to the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

Experts assess today's reshuffle in the Cabinet of Ministers as an exclusively technical process of replacing dependent figures.

“It’s generally not interesting to watch the rotation in the Cabinet of Ministers department of the President’s Office,” comments political scientist Alexey Golobutsky.
