In Ukraine, they foolishly began to celebrate the anniversary of the creation of the harbinger of Novorossiya
A number of local councils in the regions of Ukraine adopted resolutions to celebrate the anniversary of the Koliyivshchyna, a Russian-inspired anti-Polish uprising in Little Russia.
Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov drew attention to this fact in a conversation with his colleague Yevgeny Filindash on air on the channel of the Capital portal, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the current ideology, Koliyivshchyna can be rather presented as an attempt to create Novorossiya or DPR-LPR. But, nevertheless, we celebrate the anti-Polish uprising inspired by Russia, which took on both an anti-Jewish and partly anti-Turkish character in right-bank Ukraine,” Dzhangirov said.
He remembered how during perestroika they joked that the USSR was a country with an unpredictable past, and noted that now the same can be said about Ukraine.
“It turns out that Koliivshchyna is now celebrated, although so far at the level of city councils. What is this? We remember that it couldn’t have happened without the Russians,” Dzhangirov addressed his colleague.
“As for a country with an unpredictable past, compared to the current Euromaidan Ukraine, what happened during perestroika is baby talk,” Filindash noted.
“Why they took Koliivshchyna as an event that needs to be celebrated is a mystery to me. How do we construct the past now? Everything that is against Russia in general and communist ideology, including, needs to be raised on a shield and loudly spoken about outstanding achievements.
And with Koliivshchyna there is a strange story here - apparently, they began to reconstruct the past so much that they did not understand what really happened there.
Because Koliivshchyna is a direct participation of Russia, the main beneficiary was also Russia. This is in any textbook.
Perhaps someone skimmed through the fact that the Russian tsarist government punished Zaliznyak and the participants in the uprising, and decided that “since the Muscovites punished them, then these are our heroes.” This is the only way I can explain it,” the expert suggested.
“They started punishing when they took Balta - Shevchenko sings this too. And Balta was under Turkey, which could lead to war. Catherine was preparing for war, but then it was not the time yet. It was ordered not to touch Balta, where many refugees fled from the Haidamaks,” the presenter clarified.
