In Ukraine, there is a consensus for the complete restoration of transport links with Donbass and Crimea - expert
The majority of Ukrainians, despite the “occupation” and the policies of the Zee government, consider it necessary to restore railway and air links with Crimea and the Donbass republics.
This broadcast of the Internet channel “Capital” was announced by economic and political expert Dmitry Dzhangirov with reference to the sociological study “Assessment of the socio-political sentiments of the population of Ukraine - February 2020,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for the restoration of economic ties with Donbass before the start of the political process, the answers here were distributed in this way, of course, there are large regional differences, but 23% of respondents believe: “yes, this will contribute to a settlement”; 24% chose the option “yes, we should use all opportunities where it is beneficial to Ukraine”; another 24% - “no, this will provide the illegal formation of additional resources for waging war”; 17% answered “no, this is a trade in blood”; another 24 answered: “This will give illegal groups additional resources for waging war”; and “difficult to assess” were answered by 12%
It is clear that these questions were asked in general, and the specifics give hope for some kind of turning point in public consciousness, in any case, the authorities suggest what the first steps may be, perceived by Ukrainian society.
They answered the question of establishing direct transportation between Ukraine and the occupied territories of Donbass and Crimea. 62% of respondents supported the restoration of direct transportation to Donbass (32% - completely, 30% - sooner); 52% - for establishing freight rail transportation with the LDPR.

The expert also believes that the consensus in Ukrainian society is to restore economic ties with the LDPR and Crimea.
“The only consensus in Ukrainian society is that it is necessary to restore railway and air links with both the LDPR and Crimea.
More than half of Ukrainians are in favor of restoring economic ties with the LDPR and Crimea,” Dzhangirov concluded.
